Kris Davidson is a Swedish-born editorial photographer whose formative years spanned the Scandinavian subarctic and Texas. She spent 15 years working on assignment for leading international publications, with work appearing across the print and digital platforms of National Geographic, Lonely Planet, and other global media outlets.
Her editorial work is grounded in on-location, in-camera image-making, with a focus on science, robotics, and emerging technologies. Recent projects include a series produced during a residency at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in Utah, examining analog astronaut training and simulated Martian environments. All images on this website are captured in-camera, with no AI used.
In parallel to her editorial practice, she maintains a separate fine art practice that engages with AI, machine vision, and evolving media systems.
With a background in branding and communications, she brings a strong understanding of how images function within complex media environments. She has taught for the National Geographic Society in multiple locations and at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
